The Boneyard is meant to be a carnival that focuses on the best fossil-related blog posts once every month, and so it is distinct from other carnivals like the Tangled Bank or Oekologie. While posts can may take nearly any form, here are a few guidelines if you’re not sure if your post is appropriate for the carnival;
- The post should either deal with fossils or the study of fossils. Posts about geology or archeology that do not involve fossils or do not have any relevance to paleontology will generally not be accepted.
- Posts about dinosaurs or paleontology in the media (movies, book reviews, toys, etc.) will be included in the carnival.
- Posts should be spell-checked and reviewed by the writer for accuracy prior to submission. If a post is deemed to be way off-base (i.e. “proof” that dinosaurs and man walked together), it will not be accepted.
- Posts shouldn’t be more than one month old.
- You do not have to be a paleontologist or have a science-oriented blog to submit; anyone can submit a paleo-related post to this carnival.
- Be sure to link to the newest edition of the carnival; this lets other people know that a new edition is up and helps the carnival become more popular.
Please send all submissions (consisting of the URL of the submission) directly to the host of the next edition (usually mentioned at the end of each edition) or Brian.
Any questions about submitting or hosting this carnival can be addressed to Brian.
